Anne Schedeen, the actress best known for her role as Kate Tanner on NBC's ALF, has died at the age of 77. Her family announced the news in a Facebook post, saying she 'passed peacefully.'

The family did not reveal the cause of death, but paid tribute to Schedeen's life and legacy, saying 'she was a force' and that 'the memories, artwork, belly laughter, handmade jewelry, oil paintings, sculptures, costumes, and all around joie de vivre live on.'

Schedeen is survived by her husband of 55 years, Christopher Barrett, their daughter Taylor Barrett, and several other family members and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to Habitat for Humanity, one of Schedeen's favorite causes.

Schedeen's acting career spanned over four decades, with notable roles in TV shows such as The Six Million Dollar Man, McCloud, and Murder She Wrote, as well as several films. She will be remembered for her iconic role as Kate Tanner on ALF.
