A female actor from Hyderabad has filed a complaint against a casting director, alleging cheating, harassment, and criminal intimidation.
The actress, who has worked in the film industry for 15 years, claimed that the casting director obtained her contact number and offered her a role in an upcoming Telugu-language film.
However, instead of paying her dues, the director allegedly threatened her, forced her into his car, and misbehaved with her, offering better film opportunities in return for compliance.
The actress also claimed that the director used abusive language when her mother contacted him regarding the pending payment and threatened to kill her and her mother if they pursued the matter.
A case has been registered under Sections 75, 79, and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and an investigation is underway.
