Samantha Ruth Prabhu has been open about her battle with myositis, a rare autoimmune disease. The actor, promoting her upcoming Telugu film Maa Inti Bangaram, discussed her career and how her health scare forced her to reevaluate her choices.

Speaking with Gulte, Samantha shared that her rapid rise to stardom left her addicted to the 'game of stardom.' She recalled working on five back-to-back hit films, leading her to believe she had a 'golden leg' and should live up to expectations.

However, taking a break to recover from myositis changed her perspective. She realized the importance of setting boundaries and envisioning an end to her acting career, which 'really changed me in many ways.'

In 2022, Samantha took a break from working after being diagnosed with myositis while shooting for Kushi. She returned to the sets after months of recovery.

Maa Inti Bangaram, a family action drama directed by Nandini Reddy, is set for release on June 19 and stars Samantha alongside Diganth, Gulshan Devaiah, and others.
