Granite Bay High School in California was locked down on Tuesday after a school shooting threat, prompting a large law enforcement response. Amid the chaos, a Placer County Deputy was involved in a traffic collision while responding to the situation.
The Placer County Sheriff's Office reported that the school received a shooting threat at 12:15 p.m. and was immediately placed on lockdown. The Sheriff's Office School Resource Officer was on campus and worked to ensure everyone's safety.
Additional deputies rapidly responded, and a large law enforcement presence was seen on campus and in the area. Surrounding schools were also advised to lockdown as a precaution.
The Deputy involved in the collision was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The California Highway Patrol will handle the crash investigation.
