China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi urged the US to maintain stability in their ties and warned that Taiwan posed the biggest risk ahead of President Donald Trump's visit to Beijing.

The phone call between Wang and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio discussed the Middle East and Trump's upcoming trip to China, where he will meet President Xi Jinping.

Wang emphasized that the Taiwan issue concerns China's core interests and is the biggest risk point in China-US relations, and called on the US to honor its commitments and promote world peace.

Trump is scheduled to visit China on May 14-15, his first trip to the rival power since returning to the White House in January 2025.
