An X post by Varinder Bansal, founder of Omkara Capital, offers a contrasting on-ground view of Dubai amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
Bansal, currently in Dubai, said that while the city feels quieter, life continues as usual.
He noted that his flight from Mumbai to Dubai via Emirates was completely full, countering claims that travel to the UAE had dropped significantly.
However, he acknowledged visible changes after landing, with traffic down significantly and tourist presence visibly lower.
Despite this, he said there is no sense of panic among residents, and Dubai is far from being a ghost town.
Bansal shared his experience over the past two days, saying malls, restaurants, and public spaces remain active.
He cited a visit to Mall of the Emirates, saying shops were active, some restaurants were full, and people were out enjoying themselves.
Bansal also touched upon the real estate market, noting signs of correction in the higher-end segment, but stability in the mid-market segment.
His post comes against the backdrop of escalating tensions in the Middle East, with the US and Israel launching joint strikes on Iran and retaliatory attacks by Iran on American bases and Israeli military targets.
