India-Bangladesh Celebrate 53rd Anniversary of "Maitri Diwas"
The High Commission of India in Bangladesh organized a musical evening to mark the 53rd anniversary of "Maitri Diwas". December 6, 1971, marks the day India recognized Bangladesh as an independent nation, 10 days before Bangladesh achieved liberation.
Pranay Verma emphasized the importance of people-to-people connections and encouraged youth to take on the role of custodians for the future of India-Bangladesh relations. The event featured a cultural program with traditional, folk, and contemporary music performances by young and eminent artists.
The event was attended by students, youth, Heads of Foreign Missions, Bir Muktijoddhas, and members of civil society. The celebration underscores the strong bond between India and Bangladesh, built on mutual respect, trust, and cooperation.
