Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of TODAY show host Savannah Guthrie, remains missing after being reported missing on February 1. Authorities believe she was taken from her Catalina Foothills home near Tucson, Arizona the night before. A self-styled investigator, Jonathan Lee Riches, has claimed that Annie Guthrie's home was a crime scene, but Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos has cleared the names of all Guthrie family members in the matter.
Riches made the claim on X, stating that Annie and her husband Tommaso's home was a crime scene and that the Pima County Sheriff's Office won't release any info about that home due to an active investigation. However, Sheriff Nanos has stated that they are not suspects in the case.
The investigation has been ongoing for three months, with the Pima County Sheriff's Office and the FBI assisting. The search for Guthrie continues, and the public focus has been directed towards Annie and Tommaso due to their close proximity to Guthrie's home and their potential as sources of information.
Former FBI agent Jennifer Coffindaffer noted that Annie and Tommaso were likely to be Guthrie's primary help givers due to their close location, and that the cops might have taken an initial interest in them because they were expected to be the best source of information on the missing woman.
