Russian President Vladimir Putin said the Ukraine conflict is nearing its end, but only wants to meet with President Volodymyr Zelensky after a permanent peace agreement is finalized.

Putin expressed hope for an end to the Iran conflict as well, warning that everyone would suffer if it failed.

The Russia-Ukraine war has led to a significant breakdown in ties between Moscow and the West since 2022.

A three-day ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine was recently observed during Russia's annual Victory Day parade in Red Square, following a request by US President Donald Trump.

Putin has set a condition for meeting Zelensky, stating that a permanent peace agreement must be finalized first.
