President Donald Trump made a cryptic comment on Tuesday over negotiations with Iran, saying that a 'very big present worth a tremendous amount of money' from the Islamic republic has arrived.
Trump's remark comes a day after he announced a five-day pause in fighting with Iran after what he called 'productive conversations' with the country, sparking confusion over the participants in the talks and parameters of a deal.
The US President claimed the gift was 'oil- and gas-related' but refused to elaborate, saying it showed that 'we're dealing with the right people.'
However, Iranian officials have denied any direct or indirect communications with the United States, and the country has vowed to fight 'until complete victory.'
The situation remains unclear, with Pakistan, Egypt, and Gulf Arab states attempting to stitch together a diplomatic channel, while Israel has signalled it will continue its attacks.
