Fox News and New York Post columnist Karol Markowicz identified the White House Correspondents' Dinner shooting suspect as 31-year-old Cole Tomas Allen from Torrance, California. He is currently in custody.

Allen's educational background reportedly includes mechanical engineering studies at Caltech and a master's degree in computer science from California State University, Dominguez Hills. He also allegedly received a research fellowship at NASA.

However, claims that he is a registered Democrat who donated to Kamala Harris' 2024 presidential campaign have not been independently verified by authorities.

The incident occurred on Saturday at the Washington Hilton, where shots were fired inside the venue. President Donald Trump, first lady Melania Trump, and other officials were evacuated, but both Trump and Vice President JD Vance were uninjured.

Trump later announced that he will deliver a press conference from the White House briefing room, stating that the evening will be rescheduled within 30 days.
