Railway Minister Vaishnaw has announced plans to build a dedicated railway station for the Khatu Shyam temple in Rajasthan, aiming to improve connectivity for the millions of devotees who visit the site each year.

The temple, dedicated to Barbarika, a manifestation of Lord Krishna, attracts between 50 and 60 lakh devotees annually, with footfall peaking at 30-40 lakh during the 15-day Phalguna Mela.

Currently, pilgrims must alight at Ringas Junction and arrange onward road transport, or use the airport in Jaipur, about 80 km away by road.

The new station, expected to be completed within 12 months, will provide direct rail access to the temple, reducing travel time and inconvenience for devotees.

The project was first proposed in April 2023, and land for the station has already been identified.
