Devendra Fadnavis Sworn in as Maharashtra CM for Third Time

Devendra Fadnavis took oath as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra for the third time on December 5, 2024, at Mumbai's historic Azad Maidan. Fadnavis, along with allies Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde and NCP chief Ajit Pawar, met Governor C P Radhakrishnan, who invited him to form a new government in the state. Fadnavis was unanimously elected as the leader of the BJP Legislature Party.

Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar took oath as Deputy Chief Ministers.The Mahayuti alliance, led by the BJP, secured a decisive majority of 235 seats in the Maharashtra Assembly elections.

Fadnavis has been a prominent figure in Maharashtra politics, serving as the state's 18th Chief Minister from 2014 to 2019.
