New Delhi, Indian quarter-miler VK Vismaya has been handed a two-year suspension by the NADA's Anti-Doping Disciplinary Panel for testing positive for a banned substance. Vismaya, a member of the 2018 Jakarta Asian Games gold-winning 4x400m relay team, was provisionally suspended in 2024 after her urine sample contained Clomiphene, a hormone and metabolic modulator.

Vismaya claimed she had taken Clomiphene as a fertility drug, prescribed by her doctor for a legitimate medical purpose. However, the Anti-Doping Disciplinary Panel handed her a two-month ban, effective from October 29, 2024, which she will complete in six months.

Sprinter N Shanmuga Srinivas has been handed a four-year ban by the ADDP for 'Evading, Refusing or Failing to Submit to Sample Collection'. Srinivas was reportedly one of the athletes helped by former junior national athletics coach N Ramesh to evade dope tests.
