Linda Cohn is preparing to retire from ESPN after a 34-year run at SportsCenter. As she begins a new chapter, here's a look at her family life, including her marriage, children, and childhood.
Linda Cohn married Stew Kaufman in 1980, while attending SUNY Oswego. The couple remained together for nearly three decades and raised two children, Sammy and Dan Kaufman. Their marriage ended in 2008 after 28 years.
Following the split, Cohn was linked to professional hockey coach Matt City, with whom she had a long-term relationship. In her book, Cohn-Head, Cohn reflected on the breakdown of her marriage, stating she was emotionally holding back.
Kaufman never publicly discussed the reasons behind the divorce and largely stayed out of the spotlight. Cohn was born on November 19, 1959, on Long Island, where her passion for sports began at an early age.
Her father, a devoted sports fan, nurtured her enthusiasm, and her mother supported her by enrolling her in a hockey league. Cohn has credited both parents for helping shape her path to success, describing their influence as a major factor in her rise to become one of the most recognizable figures in sports broadcasting.
