Linda Cohn married Stew Kaufman in 1980, while attending SUNY Oswego. The couple remained together for nearly three decades and raised two children, Sammy and Dan Kaufman. Their marriage ended in 2008 after 28 years.
Following the split, Cohn was linked to professional hockey coach Matt City, with whom she had a long-term relationship. In her book, Cohn-Head, Cohn reflected on the breakdown of her marriage, stating she was emotionally holding back.
