US Congressman Brad Sherman has called on the Pakistani government to release Dr. Shakil Afridi, a Pakistani doctor who helped track down Osama Bin Laden. Sherman made the plea during a meeting with a Pakistani delegation, emphasizing the importance of protecting religious minorities in Pakistan and combating terrorism. Dr. Afridi has been imprisoned for years for his role in helping the US locate and kill Bin Laden. Sherman also urged Pakistan to eliminate the terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed, responsible for the murder of journalist Daniel Pearl. Indian MP Shashi Tharoor, leading an all-party delegation, echoed Sherman's concerns, highlighting Pakistan's history of rewarding terrorism and persecuting those who expose it.
