PM Modi pays homage to Rabindranath Tagore, hails Argentina visit as 'productive'

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid homage to the legendary Bengali poet Rabindranath Tagore in Buenos Aires, Argentina, during his recent visit to the country. Modi visited the bust of Tagore, who had visited Argentina in 1924 and left a lasting impression on the nation. Modi expressed pride in Tagore's contributions to India's history and culture, emphasizing his emphasis on education and learning. The Prime Minister also received the Key to the City of Buenos Aires from Jorge Macri, Chief of the City Government of Buenos Aires. During his visit, Modi met with Argentine President Javier Milei, who accorded him a ceremonial welcome at Casa Rosada. The two leaders discussed ways to strengthen bilateral ties, particularly in areas such as critical minerals, oil and gas, defence, nuclear energy, agriculture, science and technology. They also condemned terrorism and reaffirmed their commitment to fighting the menace. Modi's visit marks a significant milestone in India-Argentina ties, as the two countries celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations. The Prime Minister thanked President Milei for the warm hospitality extended to him and his delegation. The visit also saw Modi sharing a message on Instagram, saying that his trip to Argentina has been 'productive' and expressing hope for stronger ties between the two nations.
