North Tripura District Promotes Organic Products, Aims to Become State's 'Organic Door

A significant step towards promoting organic products was taken in North Tripura District, as Dibyendu Chakma, Superintendent of Agriculture, Damcherra Agri Sub-Division, presented the promotion of organic products to several dignitaries, including Santana Chakma, Minister of Industries and Commerce, and Debapriya Bardhan, DM & Collector (North). This initiative, done in collaboration with the Superintendent of Agriculture, Kanchanpur Agri Sub-Division, aims to establish North Tripura District as the "Organic door" of Tripura.
Tripura has been actively promoting organic farming through the 'Mission Organic Value Chain Development for Northeast Region' (MOVCD-NER) scheme, which connects farmers with purchasers to support the entire organic production process .The state has also made significant progress in organic vegetable cultivation, with districts like Dhalai, Gomati, and Khowai leading the way.
This promotion of organic products is a positive step towards supporting the farming community and promoting sustainable agriculture in Tripura.
Minister Santana Chakma said I presided over a special review meeting at the Conference Hall of the District Magistrate’s Office in North Tripura, focusing on the overall development activities of the three specially privileged blocks of the state government.
The meeting involved a detailed discussion on the progress of various developmental projects undertaken by the Central and State Governments in the tribal-dominated Damcherra, Laljuri, and Jampui Hill Rural Development Blocks.
Additionally, necessary instructions were given to the concerned officials to expedite the completion of certain projects.
