Magen Fieramusca, the woman convicted of murdering her friend Heidi Broussard and stealing her newborn baby, is currently serving a 55-year prison sentence with the possibility of parole. According to inmate records, Magen will be eligible for parole in 2047, but could remain in prison until December 2074.
The case, which was the subject of the Netflix film 'Stolen Baby: The Murder of Heidi Broussard,' involved Magen's fake pregnancy and her calculated plan to steal Heidi's baby. Magen strangled Heidi to death using a combination of a dog leash and her bare hands, and then drove from Houston to Austin, claiming she wanted to support her friend during recovery.
Heidi's body was found in the trunk of Magen's car, and her baby was found safe inside the Houston home. Magen accepted a plea deal in January 2023, reducing the murder charge to first-degree but waiving her right to appeal. She was sentenced to 55 years in prison, and is currently serving her sentence at the William P. Hobby Unit in Marlin, Texas.
