A Toronto resident, Richard Jonathan Edwin, has been convicted of killing a 21-year-old Indian international student and another man in Canada in April 2022.
Edwin was found guilty of first-degree murder by Ontario Superior Court Justice Jane Kelly, who ruled that his conduct was 'rational, methodical, and organised.'
The victims, Kartik Vasudev and Elijah Eleazar Mahepath, were killed in separate incidents within days of each other in Toronto.
Vasudev, a first-semester marketing management student at Seneca College, was shot near a TTC station on April 7, while Mahepath was shot and killed on April 9.
An 'arsenal' of weapons was found at Edwin's apartment, although they were legally procured.
