Chime, a popular US-based online payments app, has finally resumed services after a massive outage left thousands of users frustrated. According to Down Detector, over 6,000 people reported issues with the app, with 81% facing problems with the Chime app, 9% with mobile banking, and 6% with logging in. The outage peaked at 4:07pm EST and 5:37pm ET, but by 5:52pm ET, the number of reports had dropped to around 900.
Users took to social media to express their frustration, with some joking about the timing of the outage, while others demanded that the app be fixed immediately. Chime boasts over 25 million total customers in the US, with approximately 9.1 million active users as of 2025.
