FBI Director Kash Patel has threatened to take legal action against a report by The Atlantic that alleged misconduct, excessive drinking, and paranoia about losing his job. Patel, 46, doubled down on his criticism of 'fake media' and vowed to 'fight back' against what he calls the 'fake news mafia.'
In an interview with Maria Bartiromo on Sunday Morning Futures, Patel confirmed that he plans to sue The Atlantic over the report, which cited sources saying he has been seen intoxicated in several Washington venues and had a 'freak out' episode after being unable to access his internal computer system.
Patel also defended his leadership of the FBI, echoing rhetoric often used by President Donald Trump against the media. He vowed to 'get after the fight' and complete the mission of safeguarding America, despite the 'fake news mafia' trying to stop him.
