League of Legends was down for thousands of users on Wednesday, with over 9,000 complaints logged on Downdetector. The issues began at 8:33pm ET and affected game launch and server connections.

Users took to social media to express their frustration, with some joking that the game was down every other day. Downdetector noted that the number of people facing issues had reduced drastically, but over 3,000 users continued to experience problems.

Gamers protested the outage, with some complaining about the game's client and matchmaking system. One user suggested terminating all Riot processes in the Task Manager to fix the 'cannot complete your request' issue, but acknowledged that individual fixes would not have solved the problem.

As the issues were reportedly widespread, it was a problem on Riot Games' part. However, some users were able to access the game and rejoice, with one gamer exclaiming 'yey it's working!' on the Downdetector comment page.
