Madison Warner, the 36-year-old daughter of Virginia Democrat Senator Mark Warner, has passed away after a decades-long battle with juvenile diabetes and other health issues, the Senator and his wife confirmed.
The Warner family released a statement saying they are 'heartbroken beyond words' and grateful for the loving support of friends and family during this difficult time.
Madison's health issues were never publicly discussed, despite her father's advocacy for diabetes research. In 2013, Senator Warner mentioned that one of his daughters had Type 1 diabetes, but did not reveal her identity.
Madison is survived by her parents and two younger sisters, Gillian and Eliza. The family has asked for privacy as they navigate this profound loss.
