Newly surfaced emails have raised questions about the Pima County Sheriff's Department's transparency after it was revealed that they worked closely with a reality television crew.
The emails, which span over 220 pages, detail the department's extensive cooperation with the A&E show Desert Law, including ride-alongs, access to body camera footage, and coordination on filming logistics.
The show, which follows the 'high-intensity work' of the PCSD, premiered on January 1, 2026, months before the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, the mother of Savannah Guthrie.
The emails were exchanged between department officials and producers of the show between July and December 2025, long before Guthrie's disappearance.
The collaboration has sparked new concerns about agency objectives and internal procedures, particularly given that the investigation into Guthrie's disappearance is still underway.
