A fire broke out in the Carolina Forest area near Redwolf Trail in South Carolina on Tuesday, with crews working to contain the blaze.
The Horry County Fire Rescue reported the fire at approximately 2:37 p.m. near North Shore Drive and Red Wolf Trail, with the South Carolina Forestry Commission and Horry County Police Department assisting.
The fire is estimated to be around 7 acres in size, with local news channel WMBF's Chief Meteorologist Jamie Arnold describing the smoke plume as 'large and very active' on skycam and radar.
Several residents shared photos and videos of the fire on social media, with some reporting seeing smoke from a distance on the highway.
Firefighters are currently assessing the size of the fire and protecting structures, with officials hoping to contain the blaze quickly.
