At least one person has lost their life in a powerful storm that tore through North Texas on Saturday night, with winds reaching up to 90mph in the Springtown region.

Wise County Judge J.D. Clark confirmed a death in Runaway Bay after a suspected tornado struck the town, leaving several people injured and at least 20 families forced to evacuate their homes.

A Tornado Warning was issued for the Springtown region in Parker County, with officials reporting a structure collapse and concerns that two individuals may be trapped inside.

The National Weather Service is expected to conduct a damage assessment on Sunday to determine whether a tornado actually occurred.

Meanwhile, nearly 40,000 customers in North Texas are experiencing power outages, with approximately 25,000 located in Tarrant County alone.
