The USS Rafael Peralta intercepted an Iranian-flagged ship attempting to sail to a port in Iran, in line with a broader US enforcement strategy.

According to Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine, the US will continue to enforce a firm maritime blockade against Iran, with 34 ships having turned around since operations began on April 8.

General Caine revealed that US forces have intercepted several vessels, including the motor tanker Tiffany and the stateless tanker Majestic X, both carrying sanctioned Iranian oil.

The US Central Command maintains a strict blockade on all ports, with General Caine stating that the US is enforcing the blockade across the board against any ship of any nationality transiting to or from an Iranian port or territory.
