Five Indian Air Force (IAF) personnel, including the pilot, died after an AN-32 cargo aircraft crashed while landing at the Air Force Station in Assam's Jorhat on Saturday.
The deceased are identified as squadron leader Prashant Singh, flight lieutenant Shubham Kumar, sergeant Jitendra Sharma, Agniveervayu Khemaram Kumawat and Agniveervayu Danish Alam.
The co-pilot of the aircraft sustained injuries and is being treated at an IAF medical facility in Jorhat.
The Air Force also extended its condolences to the families of the deceased and said it stands firmly with them in this time of grief.
An investigation has been ordered into the cause of the crash.
