A young woman and her alleged boyfriend have been arrested in connection with the alleged murder of a Pune businessman, just months before his wedding. Investigators claim the couple conspired to push the victim into a 400-foot gorge with the intention of killing him.
The victim's father, Vishal Agarwal, says he had concerns about the fiancée's behavior, including her frequent phone use and her apparent closeness to another man. He had even mentioned the name of Chetan Chaudhary, raising suspicions that there might be a relationship between the two.
The couple had planned to marry in November, but police allege that Siya was in a relationship with Chaudhary, whose family also runs a business in the same commercial area as her father's.
Investigation uncovered several inconsistencies in the accident narrative, including a planned pre-wedding photoshoot trip to Bali that was cancelled after the victim discovered his passport was missing. Police claim the passport was hidden by Siya to prevent the journey from taking place.
Both accused have confessed to the crime during questioning and have been booked under Sections 103 and 61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which deal with murder and criminal conspiracy.
