Bollywood actor Akshaye Khanna is currently trending on social media following the release of his film Dhurandhar. As fans revisit his past performances, a resurfaced interview has surfaced, revealing a heartwarming anecdote about Akshaye's conversation with his late father, superstar Vinod Khanna. At the age of 18, Akshaye revealed to J.P. Dutta, a family friend and director, that he wanted to pursue acting. Dutta was working on the film Border, and offered Akshaye a role. However, Akshaye was hesitant to share his aspirations with his father, fearing rejection. He took the opportunity to reveal his dream to Dutta, who happened to be visiting his father's home. In the interview, Akshaye shared, 'I never tried to imitate anyone. I started with some wrong films and scripts, but I never gave up.' When asked if his father encouraged him to become an actor, Akshaye replied, 'My father wanted me to pursue higher education, but I had already decided that I wanted to act at the age of 15-16.' Akshaye's father, Vinod Khanna, was initially unaware of his son's aspirations. However, after learning about his decision, Vinod Khanna offered to produce a film for his son, which became Akshaye's acting debut, Himalay Putra, released in 1997. The same year, Akshaye appeared in the film Border, earning him the Most Promising Newcomer award. Akshaye's journey in the film industry began with his father's support, and he has since become one of the most sought-after actors in Bollywood. The resurfaced interview is a testament to the special bond between Akshaye and his father, and serves as a reminder of the importance of following one's passion.
