Actor Celina Jaitly has been making headlines for her personal battles, including a divorce battle with her husband, Austrian hotelier Peter Haag. She has now reacted to the Twisha Sharma death case, sharing her own experiences of abuse and isolation.
Celina took to her Instagram account and penned a long note, saying that the case of Twisha Sharma has shaken the nation. She highlighted the frightening reality of abuse, where the suffering of women becomes normalised and their pain stops mattering to those around them.
Celina shared her own situation, saying that she stayed in her marriage longer than she should have because she believed keeping the family together was the right thing to do. She highlighted the isolation and loneliness she experienced, and how it became deeper with time.
Celina concluded by saying that her heart goes out to Twisha Sharma's family, and to every woman suffering behind closed doors. She urged parents, friends, and family to bring their daughters back if they reach out, and not let the abuse consume them.
Celina has been open about the emotional turmoil of staying away from her two boys, Winston and Viraaj, and has filed a case against her husband, Peter Haag, accusing him of domestic violence, cruelty, and manipulation.
