Television and film producer Ektaa Kapoor has praised Imtiaz Ali's directorial Main Vaapas Aaunga, calling it a 'timeless' love story set against the backdrop of the Partition. The film, starring Diljit Dosanjh and Sharvari, is set to release in theatres on June 12.
In a review posted on X, Ektaa wrote that the film is 'emotional, timeless, and stays with you long after it ends.' She praised Diljit's restrained performance, saying that he carries his emotions and duality in his eyes. Ektaa also lauded Vedang Raina's breakout performance, calling him 'unbelievably charming' and saying that he is 'absolutely going to win hearts.'
The film marks Imtiaz Ali's second collaboration with Diljit Dosanjh after Amar Singh Chamkila. It will clash with three other films on June 12, including Bharat Bhagya Vidhata starring Kangana Ranaut, Manoj Bajpayee's Governor: The Silent Saviour, and Haunted 3D: Echoes of the Past directed by Vikram Bhatt.
