Akshaye Khanna's chilling performance as Rehman Dakait in the film Dhurandhar has left audiences speechless. What's even more remarkable is that the actor almost didn't make it to the project. Casting director Mukesh Chhabra revealed that convincing Khanna to join the cast was a year-long struggle. According to Chhabra, he initially approached Khanna without watching his previous film, Chhaava. The conversation didn't go well, with Khanna scolding Chhabra, saying, 'Paagal ho gaya hai kya?' (Have you gone crazy?). However, Chhabra persisted, and eventually, Khanna agreed to listen to the script. The meeting turned out to be a four-hour session, during which Khanna listened intently to the story while smoking. When the narration ended, Khanna surprised everyone by saying, 'F**k, it's very good. Bada maza aayega.' (It's very good. This is going to be so much fun). Despite this, there was still uncertainty until Chhabra finally got the call from Khanna, saying, 'Let's do it, bro.' The actor's reluctance to join the project made his performance all the more remarkable. Mukesh Chhabra's determination paid off, and Khanna's performance in Dhurandhar has earned him praise from critics and audiences alike. The film's cast, which includes Ranveer Singh, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, and Arjun Rampal, has been widely appreciated, but it's Khanna's turn as Rehman Dakait that has stood out. His chillingly restrained performance has become one of the film's most memorable elements.
