Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan has finally reacted to the underwhelming performance of his highly anticipated film War 2, which released two months ago. The actor showcased his signature wit and humor during a recent event in Dubai, where he playfully acknowledged the film's box office disappointment. At the Coca Cola Arena launch event, Hrithik was welcomed on stage by the host, who expressed admiration for the actor's global fame. The audience erupted in applause, prompting Hrithik to quip, 'That's very kind of you... You know, my film just bombed at the box office, so it feels very good to get all the love, Thank you.' Despite the box office letdown, Hrithik had expressed enthusiasm about playing Kabir in the action thriller on Instagram. In a heartfelt note, he shared behind-the-scenes moments from the film's shoot, praising his director Ayaan for creating a smooth and enjoyable experience. However, the film War 2 failed to meet expectations, collecting only ₹236.55 crore net in India and ₹364.35 crore worldwide, against a reported budget of ₹400 crore. Critics and audiences alike expressed disappointment with the film's dull writing and poor visual effects. The movie clashed with Rajinikanth's Coolie at the box office, further affecting its box office performance. War 2, directed by Ayan Mukerji, is the sixth installment in the YRF Spy Universe, featuring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR in lead roles, alongside Ashutosh Rana and Kiara Advani. Although the film received mixed reviews, Hrithik's lighthearted response to its failure has earned him praise for his wit and sportsmanship.
