Karan Johar, the renowned filmmaker and son of late producer Yash Johar, has revealed that he reached the pinnacle of his career at just 28 years old. During this time, he directed Amitabh Bachchan in the 2001 blockbuster 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham,' which also featured Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, and Lata Mangeshkar. In an emotional recollection, Johar confessed that working with such icons came with immense pressure and stress. He shared two specific instances where he experienced emotional breakdowns – the first while directing Amitabh Bachchan for the first time, and the second when Lata Mangeshkar sang the title track for 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.' Johar revealed that he was overwhelmed by the experience, saying, 'This is my entire childhood unravelling in front of me. I was like, how can I, how can I go beyond this?' During the recording of the title song, Johar broke down in tears, unable to contain his emotions as Lata Mangeshkar performed. He confessed that he felt 'sick' while directing Amitabh Bachchan due to his immense respect for the legendary actor. Karan Johar's journey to the top began with his directorial debut, 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai,' which was a major success at the box office. He has since directed numerous hits, including 'Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna,' 'My Name Is Khan,' 'Student of the Year,' and 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.' Apart from directing, Johar has also backed several blockbuster films, solidifying his position as a prominent figure in the Indian film industry.
