Sunjay's children are seen wearing their late father's Aureus polo team jerseys in a photo shared by Kareena, who affectionately referred to them as 'Christmas Angels.' The Aureus polo team had won numerous championships in India, the US, and the UK under Sunjay's captaincy. The photo was part of a Christmas post by Kareena, which included a picture of a tree with an ornament reading 'Christmas at the Pataudis.' Sunjay was married to Karisma Kapoor from 2003 until their divorce in 2016, and they have two children together. He later married Priya Sachdev in 2017, with whom he had a son, Azarius. A legal battle has been ongoing over Sunjay's multi-million-dollar estate, with Karisma alleging that Priya had forged his will.
