Kenneth Iwamasa, Matthew Perry's personal assistant, was sentenced to 41 months in prison for injecting the Friends star with ketamine that led to his death.
Iwamasa pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute ketamine causing Perry's death and was also fined $10,000 and ordered to pay an additional $100.
Prosecutors said Iwamasa knew about Perry's long struggle with addiction and had been warned by a doctor about his drug use, but still injected him with at least 27 ketamine shots in the days before his death.
Iwamasa's lawyers argued that he couldn't say no to Perry, who idolized him, but Perry's family and estate executor disagreed, saying Iwamasa wanted to keep the comfortable lifestyle Perry provided for him.
Iwamasa earned $150,000 a year as Perry's assistant and helped obtain ketamine through dealers and doctors using coded terms.
