Fans will have to wait a little longer for Mohanlal's Georgekutty as the release date of Drishyam 3 has been postponed. The Malayalam film, starring Mohanlal, will now hit theatres on May 21, which coincides with the National Award-winning actor's birthday.
The reason for the postponement of the film has not been shared. However, this is not the only big release to be affected, as Yash's Toxic: A FairyTale for GrownUps was also postponed due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
Directed by Jeethu Joseph and produced by Antony Perumbavoor of Aashirvad Cinemas, Drishyam 3 is the third instalment of the hit franchise that sees Georgekutty struggle to hide a dark secret from the police force.
The film has already been a pan-India hit, with its previous instalments, Drishyam (2013) and Drishyam 2 (2021), being remade in multiple languages, including Hindi, Sinhala, Mandarin, and Korean.
Meanwhile, the Hindi version starring Ajay Devgn is also set to release later this year, with a release date of October 2 announced earlier.
