Actor Nicolas Cage has had a long and stellar career in films, with his latest role as Spider-Noir in the live-action spinoff from the Spider-Verse animated series. In an interview, Cage spoke about his acting journey, detailing how many directors stopped talking to him after he rejected their films.
Cage mentioned that Christopher Nolan, Woody Allen, and Paul Thomas Anderson were among the directors who stopped approaching him after he rejected their films. However, he praised David O. Russell, who offered him another movie after he rejected one.
Cage is currently working in Russell's Madden, a biopic of American football coach and commentator John Madden, alongside Christian Bale, John Mulaney, Kathryn Hahn, Sienna Miller, Shane Gillis, and Joel Murray. The film is set to release in theatres this November.
Before Madden, Cage will be seen as Bill Reilly, a private detective in 1930s New York, who also moonlights as the masked superhero, Spider, in the live-action spinoff Spider-Noir. The show will stream on Amazon Prime Video from May 27.
