Prabhas is set to return to the big screen with his highly anticipated pan-India horror comedy, The Raja Saab. This film marks a departure from Prabhas' recent mass action films, as he infuses action with humor and comedy. Despite generating a significant amount in advance bookings due to his stardom, the film's start is expected to be lukewarm, primarily due to the genre and low buzz. The Raja Saab is releasing pan-India in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam. While the original Telugu version is expected to start with a ₹45-50 crore net in India, the dubbed versions may fetch only ₹5-6 crore on the first day. However, Prabhas' stardom is expected to work well in the Hindi belt, where Sanjay Dutt's presence also adds an extra draw. However, the film faces a daunting challenge from the ongoing success of Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar, which is still performing well in theaters. Consequently, The Raja Saab is predicted to open with ₹10-12 crore in Hindi, resulting in a domestic opening of ₹65-70 crore. Although this is a significant figure, higher than Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan, it is lower than Prabhas' previous pan-India films, including Adipurush and Saaho. Despite this, The Raja Saab has an advantage with the Sankranthi festival falling on a Wednesday, which provides an extended weekend of six days. Directed by Maruthi, the film stars Prabhas alongside Sanjay Dutt, Malavika Mohanan, and other notable actors. The Raja Saab releases on January 9.
