Panaji: Superstar Rajinikanth marked 50 years in Indian cinema at the 56th International Film Festival of India, saying his five-decade journey feels like a mere 10-15 years. The 74-year-old actor expressed his eternal love for cinema and acting, stating he'd choose acting in every lifetime if given the chance. Rajinikanth, honored by Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant with a shawl and memento, thanked the audience for their love and affection. He credited the success to the entire cinema industry, producers, directors, technicians, distributors, and exhibitors. A legendary figure, affectionately known as Thalaivar, Rajinikanth has captivated audiences across generations with his performances and unique style. Over five decades, he has appeared in numerous iconic films, including 'Thalapath', 'Baasha', 'Mullum Malarum', 'Enthiran', 'Kabali', and 'Jailer'. At the film gala, Rajinikanth's daughter Aishwarya's film 'Lal Salaam' was screened, in which he appears in an extended cameo role. The Tamil-language sports action drama revolves around aspiring cricketers who overcome obstacles to chase their dreams. The veteran actor is set to appear in 'Jailer 2' in June 2026 and an untitled movie produced by industry colleague Kamal Haasan.
