Rajkummar Rao has started shooting for the biopic 'Dada: The Sourav Ganguly Story' in Kolkata. The film will be shot across multiple locations in the city, capturing various phases of Ganguly's life. Rajkummar was spotted at the Kolkata Maidan, where he participated in an early morning workout session before shooting several scenes for the biopic.
The shoot began early Tuesday morning at Sourav Ganguly's residence in Behala and later filmed sequences at Kolkata's historic East Bengal Club grounds. Portions of the film have also been shot at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, with the former cricketer reportedly present during parts of the shoot.
The biopic is directed by Vikramaditya Motwane and features Tanya Maniktala as Sourav's wife, Dona Ganguly. Several actors from the Bengali film industry have been cast in important roles to maintain authenticity and stay true to Sourav's Bengali roots.
