Bollywood director Rohit Shetty, known for hits like Golmaal and Singham, has spoken out about his award drought. At a recent press conference in Mumbai, Shetty quipped that he has no connection with awards, as he's only invited to events for hosting duties. This comes despite directing 17 films, including recent moderate success Singham Again. Shetty also addressed the North-South debate, suggesting that the industry should focus on celebrating cinema rather than regional differences. He believes that social media has made the world smaller, and it's time for Indian filmmakers to come together and create content that showcases their talent globally, rather than being defined by their region. Shetty is currently working on Golmaal 5, following the moderate success of Singham Again. The film, starring Ajay Devgn, Ranveer Singh, and Deepika Padukone, collected ₹372.4 crore worldwide. Shetty expressed his desire to move away from cop films and focus on comedy, with Golmaal being his next project.
