Indian television is finally getting a late-night talk show culture, and Shekhar Suman is leading the charge with Shekhar Tonite. The show's first episode saw the actor-cum-anchor deliver sharp jibes at everyone from PM Narendra Modi to MP Raghav Chadha, despite having Union Minister Nitin Gadkari as his first guest.

In an exclusive interview with Hindustan Times, Shekhar Suman spoke about how Shekhar Tonite extends the vibe he brought to TV through Movers and Shakers in the 90s. He emphasized that the new show is a mature, more modern version of the original, with more balanced conversations and a fearless approach to tackling politics and pop culture.

Shekhar Suman is known for being fearless, and he plans to maintain that voice in Shekhar Tonite. He acknowledges the responsibility that comes with making fun of powerful people, but he's confident that his show will strike the right balance between parody and satire.

The show's guest list is diverse and exciting, with handpicked guests from various fields and walks of life. While Shekhar Suman didn't reveal the full list, a promo hinted at guests like Manoj Bajpayee, Bobby Deol, Farah Khan, and Ali Fazal.
