Tamil film Parasakthi, starring Sivakarthikeyan, has had its release date changed for the second time. The movie, directed by Sudha Kongara, will now hit theaters on January 10, 2026, four days ahead of its original release date. This revised schedule puts it directly in competition with Vijay's long-awaited final film, Jana Nayagan. According to Dawn Pictures, the production house behind Parasakthi, the decision to bring the release date forward was made after extensive discussions with exhibitors and distributors. They expressed confidence in the film's potential at the box office during this period. Parasakthi boasts an impressive cast, including Ravi Mohan, Atharvaa, and Sreeleela, alongside Sivakarthikeyan. The film is a historical drama set in the 1960s and features music by G V Prakash Kumar, cinematography by Ravi K Chandran, and editing by Sathish Suriya. The release date change comes on the heels of Sivakarthikeyan's success with three consecutive ₹100-crore hits. However, this newfound confidence may put Parasakthi at odds with Jana Nayagan, Vijay's highly-anticipated final film before his potential career transition into politics. Directed by H Vinoth, Jana Nayagan also stars Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, and Mamitha Baiju, among others, and is set to release on January 9, 2026, just one day before Parasakthi.
