Tamil star Ajith Kumar is mourning the loss of his mother, Mohini Mani, who passed away at 89 after a period of declining health. Several stars, including Kamal Haasan and Tamil Nadu CM Vijay, paid their final tribute to her. Khushbu Sundar, a senior BJP leader, recalled meeting Ajith's mother and described her as a woman of substance who led a simple life.
'Very unlike the star mothers, she led a very simple life and stayed away from the lights,' Khushbu wrote on X. 'Truly a woman of substance who brought up her children with so much of values.'
Ajith returned to Chennai from Dubai following his mother's death, and his family has requested privacy to grieve. Her last rites will be a private family affair.
