Varun Dhawan is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film, Border 2, where he portrays the courageous Indian Army officer, Major Hoshiar Singh Dahiya, a Param Vir Chakra awardee who fought in the 1971 Indo-Pakistan War. Ahead of the film's theatrical release on January 23, a heartwarming video has surfaced, showcasing Colonel Hoshiar Singh Dahiya's wife blessing Varun Dhawan at a pre-release event and praising his performance with a smile. In the video, Colonel Hoshiar Singh Dahiya's wife can be seen smiling and blessing Varun Dhawan, saying, "You have done a fantastic job. Bravo! The film is going to do exceptionally well." Varun Dhawan, visibly touched by the gesture, thanked her for her kind words. This comes as a relief to Varun, who faced criticism for his performance in the song Ghar Kab Aaoge from some sections of the audience. Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 features Varun Dhawan alongside Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty. The film is a sequel to the 1997 blockbuster Border and is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, J P Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta. The movie, based on the 1971 India-Pakistan war, is set to release in theaters on January 23.
