Tamil superstar Vijay might become the next Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu after his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), leads in polls. As the results roll in, Vijay's family couldn't contain their excitement, bringing out their party's symbol, whistles, and cheering for their son.

According to the Election Commission of India website, TVK has secured 110 of the 234 seats in TN, while AIADMK is in second place with 62 seats and the ruling DMK falls to third with 45 seats.

Vijay's parents, SA Chandrasekhar and Shoba, watched the news live with the rest of the family, beaming with pride for their son. A video posted by Vijay's cousin, Pallavi Surendar, shows the family jumping with joy as Chandrasekhar comes out of a lift, hugging him to congratulate him on his son's election win.

Vijay's foray into politics began in February 2024, when he announced his decision to contest in the 2026 elections. He launched the TVK party and held his first public rally in October 2024, touring many regions of TN to hold rallies and share his manifesto directly with the people.

With Vijay potentially becoming the next Chief Minister of TN, he is expected to take a step back from cinema. His final film, Jana Nayagan, is yet to be certified by the CBFC, having been delayed since January.
