The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has successfully implemented a new technology called 'Ghost Murmur' during a critical operation to rescue a US airman from deep within Iran.

Ghost Murmur is capable of detecting human heartbeats from considerable distances and employs artificial intelligence (AI) to filter out ambient noise.

The technology was used in a secluded area of southern Iran, where hundreds of US military personnel participated in the rescue of an injured US weapons systems officer.

The airman, who was stranded after his F-15E Strike Eagle fighter jet crashed, used a 'very sophisticated beeper-type apparatus' to relay his position from the mountain ridgeline.

The Ghost Murmur successfully detected the airman's location, allowing US military personnel to rescue him before Iranian authorities could find him.
